Say NO to Dangerous Organic Rider on Senate Appropriations Bill

http://www.healthactioncenter.org/action/index.asp?step=2&item=27854

Organic food standards are facing the largest challenge since the USDA's 1997 proposal to allow toxic sludge, genetically engineered organisms and irradiation on oragnic farms.

This week, the U.S. Senate, under pressure from large food processors, plans to attach a rider to the 2006 Agriculture Appropriation Bill that will weaken the integrity of organic standards. We urgently need natural health consumers like you to contact your Senator and demand that he or she oppose this rider.

Click Here to Take Action Today! Tell your Senators to keep organic organic.

http://www.healthactioncenter.org/action/index.asp?step=2&item=27854

Under this proposal the USDA may:

      - permanently allow synthetic processing aids and food contact
substances, including over 500 food contact substances, to be used in
organic foods without any type of public review for their safety and
compatibility with organic production and processing.

      - leave unresolved whether young dairy cows could be treated with
      antibiotics and then converted to organic after twelve months;

      - create a serious new loophole in which organic ingredients could be
substituted with non-organic ingredients without any consumer notice
      based upon "emergency decrees."

Please take action NOW to protect organic standards.

The Judiciary Committee voted to confirm Roberts as Chief Justice.
    - All 10 Republicans voted to confirm
    - Feingold, Kohl, Leahy voted to confirm (Democrats)
    - Durbin, Schumer, Biden, Feinstein, Kennedy voted to oppose (Democrats)
Next, his nomination goes before the full Senate for a vote.  Here's what we need you to do:
      1. Call the Dems (1-877-762-8762) who voted to support Roberts and tell them that they failed the American public (as members of the Judiciary Committee they are responsible to ALL Americans, not just people in their own state)
      2. Call the Dems (1-877-762-8762) who opposed Roberts and thank them (and ask them to do it again as part of the full Senate)
      3. Call all the other Dems in the Senate (1-877-762-8762) and ask them to vote to oppose (and filibuster).  There's a list of all Senators at http://savefile.com/files/2143329

re: FEMA'S SINISTER REAL PURPOSE 10 pages of articles:
http://www.indybay.org/news/2005/09/1769526.php
What's even more scary is if you look into FEMA's budget. Only 6%, count them 1...2...3...4...5...6 100ths of the funding they recieve from the Federal budget (i.e. US citizen tax dollars) ACTUALLY goes into any sort of emergency preparedness plans and supplies for the public. The bulk majority of it goes into building underground shelters similar the one a mile under the Whitehouse for the wealthy elite to escape into when the nukes and other mass-destructive weapons start flying. Make no mistake, FEMA isn't there to help anybody but the ruling class to perpetuate its ability to rule after catastrophe. It's not there to rebuild a harmonious society, it's not there to help the general public. It's there to keep those in power in power after it all goes down the drain. And it's taking a LOT of money away from helping people that actually do need it NOW, and may even more after Rita, depending on what the weather holds. Most importantly, unless somebody is ready to come up with a way and is willing to examine and countermand executive orders, then there's little anybody can do about FEMA's existence, its funding or its methods in this day and age. Unfortunately that's the sad reality that most people in this society choose to support and participate in every single day.

# Stolen Childhoods - Amnesty International screening
 Thu Sep 22 8:00pm $5
"Stolen Childhoods" is the first-ever feature documentary on global
child labor. Filmed in eight countries (Brazil, India, Pakistan,
Indonesia, Kenya, Nepal, Mexico and the United States), it tells the
stories of the millions of child laborers around the world, in their
own words. "Stolen Childhoods" is narrated by Meryl Streep, and
includes interviews with Nobel Peace Prize winner Wangari Maathai, US
Senator Tom Harkin, and Founder of the International Labor Rights
Fund Pharis Harvey. Directed by Len Morris, "Stolen Childhoods" won
"Best Feature for Children's Advocacy" at the 2005 Artivist Film
Festival in Los Angeles. It not only has extraordinary footage of the
growing problem of child labor, but it also depicts solutions:
offering governments, NGO's, individuals and communities an
opportunity to do something about this critical global labor rights
issue.

Fri Sep 23

# Fri Sep 23 noon - 2pm Anti-Fur Demo at Chinese Consulate

Please join members of IDA for a demonstration to protest the cruel treatment of minks, raccoons and foxes raised on Chinese fur farms and killed for their pelts. A recent investigation of fur farms in China - where 80% of the world's fur comes from - exposed horrific cruelty in a country where there are NO animal welfare laws. Investigators found workers attempting to stun animals by repeatedly slamming them against the ground or bashing their heads with clubs. Such unreliable methods left many animals fully conscious, visibly blinking and breathing for as long as ten minutes after their fur was stripped from their bodies.

What: Anti-fur Demo
When: Friday, September 23rd from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m.
Where: Consulate General of the People's Republic of China, 1450 Laguna Street (near Geary Blvd.), San Francisco (click http://tinyurl.com/c2cln for directions)

To RSVP or for more information, contact Karen Steele at (415) 388 9641 ext. 217 or karen@idausa.org.
Posters and leaflets will be provided. For more information on the investigation of Chinese fur farms, please visit http://www.furkills.org

If the government won’t listen to the people, we will stop the war
ourselves by
organizing campaigns to remove the pillars of support on which the war
depends.
By supporting counter recruitment, GI resistance and draft resistance, we can
strategically cut off the supply of compliant troops. This action supports
these people power campaigns that are key to the resurgent movement to
stop the
Iraq war and occupation, and policies of empire behind it.

While over 200 billion a year of our money is spent on the Iraq war and
occupation, money was cut from flood control projects that could have
helped
avert much of the disaster. Large numbers of National Guard troops that might
have helped are in Iraq. The resources that are spent for hurricane care
dwarf
next to that wasted on warfare. We're working to uproot the system behind the
Iraq war in the Persian Gulf and the government made disaster in the Gulf
Coast. It is time to replace racism and poverty with economic and racial
justice!

Recruiters grow desperate as more civilians, especially African-Americans and
women, are refusing to enlist. At the same time, more and more enlisted
soldiers are refusing to fight this war for empire. Recruiters are
intensifying their campaign of lies upon our youth, and especially on
working-class neighborhoods and communities of color. Over $185 million a
day
goes to maintain the occupation of Iraq, while here in California money goes
into prisons instead of schools. Here, working class youth and youth of color
are told "you can go into the military or to jail," and then once
enlisted,
soldiers refusing to kill are imprisoned.

How can we step up our support for youth to find alternatives to the
military, for those already enlisted who are refusing orders to kill or
going AWOL, and for Iraqis who are fighting for their lives under U.S.
occupation? Please join us on the 23rd, spread the word and bring your
friends.
There will be a safe zone for those not risking arrest.

From A Nation Rocked To Sleep/
        For Casey Sheehan

Have you ever heard the sound of taps played at your brother's
grave?
They say he died so the flag will continue to wave,
But I believe he died because they had oil to save.
Have you ever heard the sound of taps played at your brother's
grave?

Have you ever heard the sound of a Nation Rocked to Sleep? The
leaders want to keep you numb so the pain won't be so deep, But if
we the people let them continue, another mother will weep. Have
you ever heard the sound of a Nation Rocked to Sleep?

Luis Fernando Uribe has exhibited extensively throughout the world for more than 25 years. His work is preeminent in expression among today’s contemporary Latin American art, demonstrating a rare instinctual power that emanates from Uribe’s profound and painful experiences of growing up in Colombia. The artist adds his own style to Magic Realism art, which has long flourished in Latin America, while embodying the core of Magic Realism’s strongest tenants in their most essential form. Uribe’s paintings, simultaneously a response to suffering and the need to escape from suffering, expresses his vision through dreamlike half-shadows and figures that populate imaginative landscapes.

KAN'NAL (Colorado)
Explosions of fire. Thrumming, primal rhythm. Dancers swirling in whirls of diaphanous white. Machetes spinning and clashing. Ancient instruments and futuristic technologies. Mythic archetypes skeletons, deer, wondrous female warriors coming to life. Seduction. Danger. Freedom. And were only talking about the first minute or so after KanNal takes the stage. These performances surpass what people expect. You cant exactly call them concerts; instead KanNal has created its own Shamanic Rock personal ritual that stirs the emotions fear, desire, ecstasy in a way that makes this group much more than just a band. For that matter, you cant even call KanNal a band. These seven individuals have drawn together into something that goes beyond family; theyre more like a tribe, united by ties more binding than birth...

# THE WORKSHOP

Free Carpentry Treehouse Workshop
Chez Claudine
203 Blackburn, Santa Cruz
Wes, 408-218-2782

In this whole weekend hands-on workshop we will get an intro to Free Carpentry and build a treehouse. Requirements: Attendance of both classes is strongly recommended. Having beginning carpentry skills will be useful, but not necessary. Bring any tools you have. Be prepared to take plenty of notes and work hard. Call or email to reserve a space in the class.

Sat. Sept. 24 9am - 4pm Free carpentry, tool basics, foundation
Sun. Sept. 25 9am - 4pm Walls, windows, doors

This is part of Free Skool Santa Cruz. Calendar, discussion, and reviews at santacruz.freeskool.org

FREE CARPENTRY

We want to help create living, breathing connected living spaces for people, and at the same time, combine our artistic goals, living experience, building skills and specialties to help build real communities and work toward a thriving gift economy.

We live in a world that has given a lot to us, and we want to give something back. We do this professionally, and it's the best way we know to share what we love to do. it's not about charity; this is our gift to our community, and to ourselves and a way to get involved in interesting projects where people are ready to let go of societal standards. Where we as artisans can let our most fantastical visions loose, pour our soul out, share what we love, and offer it as a gift. It's one more way of infusing happiness and interconnectedness into the social milieu.

What if, as an artistically inclined carpenter, you were to find someone who offered a project that enlisted all your most treasured skills and tricks, that tickled you to figure out how to expand your knowledge and courage in how you use your tools and noggin and informational/material resources. A project in which you could give the finished product with no expectations of return? It's cathartic. It's all about letting go. Not unlike incinerating carefully created art work. Yet with free carpentry, your art and craftsmanship lives on and influences and reverberates.

Giving away the best of what you do will transform your relationship with your work. Free carpentry is just a beginning.

WHAT TO BRING

The Free Skool calendar said you should bring tools if you have them. True. People have asked what tools will be useful. I'll try to give you an idea. We won't be needing any finish tools at all. The following tools will be very useful. If you are thinking about doing carpentry on a regular basis, these are also the bare minimum you'll need. So buying these tools will be a good investment. (There are several used tool places in town, including Drew's Used Tools).

HAND TOOLS
Framing Hammer
Toolbelt/toolbag
Nail puller or flat bar
Speed square
Carpenter pencils
Chalk line/chalk box

POWER TOOLS
Wormdrive saw (also called a Skil saw)
Cordless drill/screwdriver

OTHER STUFF
Water
Snacks, if you think you might feel peckish
Food you want to share at lunchtime

BEYOND THE BASICS

Other advice that will allow you to get the most out of this workshop.

ARRIVE EARLY - due to time limitations, we will start on-time and will not repeat anything

ASK QUESTIONS - there will be tons and tons of stuff that you will not get the first time around, ask questions until you understand it

TAKE NOTES - this workshop will be fast-paced. You should carry a small notebook with you and take voluminous notes on everything.

COME READY TO WORK - After this weekend, you will be wracked. You will be lifting, cutting, hammering, digging, and pulling. Stretch ahead of time and be sure you are ready to work your ass off.

ATTEND BOTH DAYS - You will get the most out of the workshop by attending both Saturday's and Sunday's workshop. On the second day, we will build (literally) on what we learned the first day.

BE HONEST - Be honest about your experience, what you know, what you understand, or what you need help with. If you do, we can get you more information, help with what you are doing, or whatever you need.

BE ATTENTIVE - Pay careful attention to everything you hear, to any instructions you receive, and mostly, to everything you learn from every mistake you make.

HAVE FUN - Bring your tolerance, your patience (especially with yourself), your understanding, your most attentive, problem-solving, confident self. And have fun.

DIRECTIONS

Blackburn is right off of Laurel across from the Santa Cruz High football field a few blocks up from downtown.

# PEOPLE'S PARK COB Free-Box REBUILDING, SUNDAY (9/25) 1-6pm.
Consider leaving something in the fuel cells this weekend for a Sunday Afternoon Cob Workparty. Students, Volunteers, Parkgoers will all be working alongside the Friends of People's Park to rebuild the recently razed FreeBox.
Please come if you can! Experienced cobbers - you are needed to help guide others! New to Cob? We would love to have your appetite for natural building knowledge! We can all feed each other - just BRING IT!
IMPORTANT: This event will take place on University of California Property. The University is somewhat opposed to the FreeBox's reconstruction. "We (Friends of People's Park) began rebuilding the free clothing box on Sept. 17th & 18th.  We put up four legs for the roof and built the foundation for the box.  The police informed us that they considered our rebuilding the vandalized box as vandalism."

# next TreeSpirit photo shoot, Sun. Sept 25, 4pm, Golden Gate Park
Dear friends of The TreeSpirit Project,

Photographer Jack Gescheidt here, back from, and moved by an amazing outpouring of affection from hundreds and hundreds of gentle people at the recent The Sausalito Art Festival.  And so I invite and welcome you to participate in the next TreeSpirit photo shoot on Sunday, Sept. 25th, @ 4pm in SF's own Golden Gate Park.   We'll quietly commune with a beautiful little oak grove, tucked out of sight from the park's roadways, in a heartfelt community gathering in nature (see jpeg attached).

I am captivated by the endless curves of these native trees, and enticed by the carpet of ivy beneath them.  Come climb a tree or lay naked in the ivy, beneath the oaks' canopy, whichever calls most to you in the moment.

As with all TreeSpirit photo gatherings, EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO PARTICIPATE (but please, no spectators).  Bring a friend if you feel more comfortable doing so, all body types and ages are welcome.  The only requirement is your desire to commune in trees and nature free of all clothing.

Each participant receives a print from the shoot in exchange for signing a Photo Release so the final image can appear in the TreeSpirit Project series and website.  See the collection of gentle images created so far and share them with curious friends:  http://www.TreeSpiritProject.com

One of the many purposes of TreeSpirit is simply to enjoy being outdoors and with these wondrous creature we call trees, along with fellow tree lovers.

We'll meet on Sunday, Sept. 25th, @ 4pm on MLK (Martin Luther King) Drive, 100 yards inside the park from the busy 5th & Lincoln intersection on its south border (see map attached).  From here, it's a short walk to the oak grove.  We'll make a photo RAIN OR SHINE; whether it's sunny and warm or foggy and chilly.  Bring a blanket to stay warm as the SF weather is unpredictable.  Please allow 2 full hours, 4-6pm, for the photo session although it will likely end sooner.

Please email me if you would like to attend and share this new experience, or have any questions.

with great appreciation and love for the trees,

you have to do is bring a party of four.

At this intimate "songwriters in the round", we're breaking from
our glamorous full band appearances, and unveiling our hearts and
souls "unplugged". This month's showcase features an incredibly
diverse lineup:

Lane Murchison - rootsy down home grooves
Trevor Justice - soulful story songs
Angelica Star - mesmerizing ballads
Maceo Campbell - fresh and original R&B

P.S. My CDs have just hit the streets -- woohoo! At a songwriter

to be licensed for film and TV!

Early next week, the CD should be available at
www.cdbaby.com/trevorjustice

P.P.S. I'd really love to share my new songs with you! So if the
songwriter showcase format (or this particular venue) doesn't
excite you, please tell me how or where you *would* like to see me
perform. i.e. would you prefer a coffeehouse? Would you be more
likely to come if I had a backup band? Any other suggestions?

P.P.P.S. Still planning the venue and date for my CD release party.
Will keep you posted!

Help IDA Put the Spotlight on UCSF’s Massive Animal Welfare Violations

The scheduled hearings for the USDA’s formal charges against the University of California – San Francisco (UCSF) on 75 counts of animal welfare violations are due to begin on October 4th. This is a great opportunity to place a spotlight on UCSF and its long history of animal welfare violations.

UCSF has been in almost continual violation of the Animal Welfare Act since 1998.  Given the indifference and arrogance of UCSF’s administration and many of its investigators, and the fact that two of the investigators cited in the charges now sit on UCSF’s animal research oversight committee, it is unlikely that the chronic deficiencies and animal cruelty in UCSF’s labs has been corrected today.

What You Can Do

We are looking for people to join us for a week of action at UCSF to help bring a spotlight onto these animal welfare violations. Even if you are only able to attend one hour of one day that will be welcomed.

When:   Monday, September 26th – Friday September 30th
Time:    11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. daily
Where: UCSF Parnassus Campus, 513 Parnassus Avenue, San Francisco

Please contact Karen Steele at (415) 388 9641 ext. 217 or karen@idausa.org to RSVP on a day and time you will be able to attend.
Posters and leaflets will be provided. For more information on the UCSF animal welfare violations visit http://www.vivisectioninfo.org/ucsf/index.html.

# Tue, Sep 27 12:00 pm Protest at US EPA Region IX Headquarters
 75 Hawthorne St San Francisco @ Harrison / Howard / 2nd / 3rd St.

In an act of environmental racism and injustice, the United States Environmental Protection Agency has announced that it wants to eliminate race and income as factors in developing the agency’s strategic plan to protect public health and the environment from pollution.

This action by US EPA is a direct threat to communities of color and other low-income communities that continue to suffer a direct, discriminatory and disproportionate impact on their health and environment due to the ongoing reality of environmental racism and injustice.

Contrary to US EPA public relations statements, environmental racism is alive. Race and class are still major factors in determining who gets polluted and how communities are protected from pollution.

The US EPA is guilty of environmental racism and injustice in urban, rural, desert and Indigenous communities:

US EPA violates the Executive Order on Environmental Justice that prohibits taking actions that have a discriminatory or disproportionate impact on communities of color and other low-income communities.

US EPA has allowed low-income communities of color in hurricane-devastated Louisiana to be dumped on and polluted by petrochemical and hazardous waste industries for decades – and today these communities are suffering even more from the toxic fallout from Hurricane Katrina.

US EPA allows state and regional agencies that receive federal funds to engage in environmental racism in violation of federal civil rights laws.

US EPA rubber stamps Title V Clean Air Act permits for large polluters even if polluters cannot comply with permit requirements, and EPA continues to drag its feet on cleanup of toxic contaminated sites.

US EPA allows hazardous industries to operate on the lands of several Native Nations without proper permits and without the informed consent of the tribes, contributing to the desecration of sacred sites, harming cultural traditions and threatening the health and sovereignty of these Native Nations.

James Brightwolf has bravely used his art, technology and chutzpah to engage controversial issues for 40 years. Come hear about his important work.

There is a long and colorful history of theatre, (being the composite
of all the other 'arts') having evolved from shaman, trickster, fool
and a score of other designations to play a vital part in the creation
of our cultural mythology. The arts also have the capacity to destroy
myth with all of the tools of the trickster. Now with modern
technology as a tool, this power to satirize, ridicule, subvert,
derail, upstage, curse, demonize and co-opt has become even more
powerful. In times of war the arts are even more important if they can
remain free of the hush money and pressures from corporations,
militarism, and ALL politicians. The arts of San Francisco are under
immense pressure to promote policies that the artists often don't
personally support. The Pentagon subsidizes the NEA for recruiting.
War contractors spin their image as community members. The retail
media help regulate cultural parameters and serve as corporate
watchdogs of the status quo. But Direct Action Theatre crosses the
lines of social disapproval, institutional control, copyright power,
and good taste (which is the bugaboo of even the most liberal
supporter of the great artists of past and present.) We will be
exploring the essential roll of the 'trickster etc.' in this modern
technological imperium.

James Brightwolf has toured the planet for over 40 years doing what he
calls "the theatre of the public controversy." After an advanced in
degree directing and design from the Art Institute of Chicago in the
early 60's and quickly getting absorbed into the big charities of
official art in official centers, he started generating anti Viet Nam
war theatre in places such as Stockholm, Copenhagen, Heidleberg,
Aache, and London. He spent the 70's in Johannesburg and Nairobi
producing anti-apartheid theatre and smuggling South African black
actors out of South Africa into the United States and on a world tour.
Later efforts challenged the reintroduction capital punishment in the
U.S. and helped the Central American Sanctuary movement to rescue
death squad victims from Central America on the underground railway
through Arizona to California to Canada. He was arrested and jailed in
the 80's for performing street theatre in Berkeley that linked the
University of California, the CIA, the Contras, and the cocaine
business in the U.S. The University paid him damages for this false
arrest, which he promptly used to take his show on the road to Berlin
to celebrate the fall of the Berlin Wall. In the 90's he wrote a Rock
Opera about Waco Massacre and worked on issues surrounding pollution
at Los Alamos. Now, after five years in Sydney organizing a national
protest against the American owned and operated refugee prisons in
Australia, he is back in San Francisco to unleash his brand of
activism which he calls Direct Action Theatre to reclaim the arts from
the hands of government and big business.

Howard Whitehouse is an artist and psychologist with over 20 years of
experience researching cross-cultural systems of healing with a focus
on shamanism. He co-founded the Human Science Research Institute at
the State University of West Georgia in 1984. His dissertation
entitled THE CHALLENGES OF THE RETURN FROM A SHAMINIC ODYSSEY: A
HEURISTIC EXPLORATION drew on his 10-year experience working with a
CURANDERO (or Native American healer) while studying at the California
Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco.

# Vegan Film:The Witness Fri Sep 30 7:00Pm Free

----/ Event Description /-----------------------------------------------

Free Screening of the documentart film THE WITNESS.

How does a construction contractor from a tough Brooklyn neighborhood
become an impassioned animal activist?
In the award-winning documentary THE WITNESS, Eddie Lama explains how
he feared and avoided animals for most of his life, until the love of
a kitten opened his heart, inspiring him to rescue abandoned animals,
become a vegetarian, and ultimately, to bring his message of
compassion to the streets of New York.

With humor and sincerity, Eddie tells the story of his remarkable
change in consciousness, sharing along the way some of the shocking
realities of the meat and fur industries.

Featuring the song "Angel" by Sarah McLachlan, this is a story of
beauty and transcendence in the face of tragedy and despair.

Event starts at the Peace Cafe in the Red Vic before the film. Film
starts at 7:30PM.
The Peace cafe serves vegan foods.
This film is free, cafe extra if you want to eat, drink, have a snack.

Rafael, CA 94901 (Marin County). *Please note new location*. For more

KFC has refused to make these changes.

"September Surprise, October Surprise:
Everything You Think You Know About 9/11 Is Wrong --

featuring Barbara Honegger

Sunday, October 9, 2001 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.
at Round Table Pizza
Banquet Room on 2nd Floor
5160 Geary Blvd. (at 16th Ave.)
San Francisco, California

Barbara Honegger is a senior military affairs journalist and
founding member of the International 9/11 Truth Alliance.
Her talk will compliment Jim Hoffman's September
presentation and feature a scientific investigation / data
analysis of the 9/11 Pentagon attacks. Honegger was the
first to expose the meaning and central importance of the
multiple-hijack-scenario anti-terror emergency response
exercises and wargames being conducted by the Bush
Administration on Sept. 11th. Her 9/11 contributions are
prominently credited and featured in "Crossing the Rubicon"
by Michael Ruppert and "Inside Job" by Jim Marrs.

Ms. Honegger served as a White House Policy Analyst in the
1980's and was the first public resignation of conscience
from the Reagan-Bush Administration. She is the author of
"October Surprise", the first book to document the secret
deal between the 1980 Reagan-Bush Campaign and the radical
Islamist Khomeini regime to delay the release of the U.S.
hostages in Iran until after the 1981 presidential
inauguration of Ronald Reagan. Exposure of the "October
Surprise" ignited a major Congressional investigation.

Ms. Honegger earned the first accredited U.S. graduate
degree in Consciousness Studies/Experimental Parapsychology,
from John F. Kennedy University (1981). She holds a B.A.
in Communications/Honors Writing from Stanford University
(1969), with expertise in the neuropsychology of human
and nonhuman primate communication.

# GI Rights Hotline Training October 15
A crucial element to slowing the military machine is helping individual GIs get out of the military!  As CCCO has done since 1948, we are supporting individuals in their resistance and opposition to war.  In particular, we are standing with a group of people —GI’s whose questioning and resistance are increasing and becoming better known

The GI Rights hotline is staffed by a network of organizations throughout the United States and in Germany.  In 2004 we received 32,000 calls from people who needed help obtaining discharge from the military.  Increasingly, people are also using email to contact us and we sent about 3,000 emails in response to email queries.

The hotline provides accurate, comprehensive, and objective information on draft registration, military discharges, civil rights in the military, and involuntary activation and deployment of military personnel.  The work we do and the information we disseminate are known to enlisted people in numbers far greater then the thousands with whom we communicate personally.

We are seeking additional military counselors to volunteer on the Hotline.  Tasks include answering live phone calls, returning phone messages, responding to email inquiries, and making referrals to relevant organizations and individuals.  Volunteers make an initial one- year commitment of at least 2 hours of service per week.

CCCO will be holding a GI Rights volunteer training on
 Saturday, October 15, 2005 9am – 5pm
 405 14th St., Suite #205 Oakland, CA
 Pr-registration required by September 26
For more information or to register for the training, call
 510-465-1617 or 888-231-2226
 Or email steve@objector.org

The training will provide an overview of all the discharges, AWOL practices and regulations, and  legal and ethical issues in hotline counseling.

-The Geneva convention instructs us to resist genocide by any means necessary.
-The US constitution directs us to overthrow our government if it fails to represent us.

If a cop does not understand these laws, you can arrest him for impersonating an officer.

Get used to ignoring or arresting officers who do not understand the US Constitution.

Live free or die.

NATIONAL ID CARD LAW / REAL ID LAW is NULL AND VOID. Any law that is repugnant to the Constitution of the United States of America is NULL and VOID. Marburry v. Madison -1803 Ignore or arrest any cop who asks to see such. You are allowed to do so by the Geneva Convention and the US Constitution. Passed by treasonous, secretive congress, HR 418 Real ID ACT is NULL AND VOID. Note how senate secretly approved this bill the eve before running away to winter break. Note US history of passing repressive legislation the eve before a break, so that no opposition or public response can take place.
